For Google Store’s biggest sale of the year, we created Shopper Hopper - a nostalgic arcade game that transformed Black Friday into an interactive adventure. With high-speed gameplay, immersive design, and a buildable arcade cabinet, it became a shopping experience unlike any other.

Set in a vibrant, voxel-style high street, Shopper Hopper put players in control of Hoppy the bargain hunter, dodging crowds and obstacles while collecting Google Store deals. Bringing the magic of gaming into the real world, Black Friday shoppers also received a build-your-own arcade cabinet, transforming their smartphones into mini retro consoles for a fully immersive experience.

Beyond just a game, Shopper Hopper became a flexible platform for engagement. Following its success, we adapted it for a B2B audience in MENA, refreshing its colour palette, redesigning characters, and turning power-ups into Google products that showcased real business solutions. The result was an endlessly playable experience that spanned audiences, markets, and mediums.

Highlights – With over 3,000 players across 90 countries and an average engagement time of over five minutes, Shopper Hopper drove both consumer and business engagement for Google’s biggest shopping moment.
