Google Zeitgeist is among the world’s most exclusive events.
Zeitgeist hosts a select group of the top global thinkers and influencers. Each year, Google selects innovative technological ideas to demonstrate live throughout the event. Phantom was approached to create an inventive experiential piece.

With the likes of Sir David Attenborough, Prof. Stephen Hawking and David Beckham speaking exclusively about the world's most important issues, we thought it would be fascinating to visualise how the rest of the world communicated the same topics. We conceptualised and developed a digital fireplace, fuelled by social media and Google trends data. The more a topic was discussed around the world in real time, the more colourfully and actively the flames animated.

As a centrepiece at the event, the Zeitgeist Fireplace was a key discussion point amongst attendees. Over two days, we processed over 387364 tweets across 27 topics.
