ABOUT

Systemic racism isn’t just an issue across the Atlantic. From healthcare to policing, racial inequalities exist in the UK too, but they’re often overlooked. We wanted to challenge that by turning online searches into a tool for education, revealing the everyday discrimination faced by people of colour in the UK.

We identified 15 search terms that expose key areas of systemic racism, from biases in healthcare to policing and education. Using bold, disruptive visuals inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement, then taking our message to the streets of London with flyposters and stickers, driving curiosity and action.

The campaign was amplified across social media, urging people to stop and search these terms for themselves. The response was incredible, with London BLM sharing our post, sparking wider discussion, and driving thousands of visits to our website. Within weeks, the campaign gained traction across multiple platforms, proving the power of a simple search to open eyes and shift narratives.

Highlights – London BLM’s Instagram share drove a wave of visits in the first week, with continued social shares and media coverage expanding the conversation even further.
